Christmas Party-Sunday, December 7

Hope everyone had restful breaks with lots of good food and fun times.  You may be sad for the not so fun weeks ahead of schoolwork and finals, BUT do not worry!  ICF’s annual Christmas party is a GREAT study break and a time for all of us to hangout before the semester ends.  Here are the details: 

TIME : 6-9pm  [so short a study break, you can't miss this!] 
WHEN: This Sunday (12/2) 
WHERE: : Asian American Cultural Center (It looks like a house =),1210 Nevada Street, Urbana in between Mathews and Goodwin http://illinois.edu/ricker/CampusMap?target=search&building=1145)

SPECIAL NOTE:  To increase on the fun, we are going to have a white elephant gift exchange.  Come and find out what that’s all about to participate, please bring a gift that is less than or equal to $5 appropriate for either a boy or girl.

Curtis Orchard on Saturday!

Just as we announced at the last Upper Room, we will be going to Curtis Orchard this weekend!!  Curtis Orchard is a place every U of Ier should go before graduating and is a a fun-filled place with apple/pumpkin picking, a petting zoo, an obstacle course, a corn maze and other fun activities.  For more info check out www.curtisorchard.com .  So, we invite you all to come out and have fun, laugh, enjoy fellowship, do some apple picking and just enjoy this weather.  Here are the details…

 

WHAT: CURTIS ORCHARD
WHEN: THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 11th, 2:30-4:30pm

WHERE: MEET AT the ILLINI UNION  for rides NO LATER THAN 2:20PM (Green St Side–Circle Drive)

 

Note:  Many of us will participate in the Corn Maze and Obstacle Course.  If you are one of these people, or think you might want to have fun at Curtis Orchard, bring $4 for the maze and $1 for the obstacle course =).  Also,  if you want to come back with DELICIOUS apples, apple donuts, cider, etc. bring extra cash for that as well.

 

We’ll be driving to Curtis Orchard together so MAKE SURE YOU COME ON TIME to the Union. So, take some time off from your crazy schedule and come hang out for a little bit.  If you have any questions, please call your FIG leaders or e-mail us back!  

Open Mic Night, Sunday @ 7:30pm

Open Mic Night is a time to take a break in the semester and use our talents and abilities to glorify our God as a fellowship.  It will be a fun night of worship, skits, songs and other forms of praise to God.

Got Talent? Don’t Have Talent? Do something for ICF Open Mic Night =)

Hello all! Our annual Open Mic Night is coming up, so clear your calendars and start preparing!

Here’s a little bit about Open Mic Night..

Purpose: To use your talents and abilities to glorify our God.
What can I do?: Almost anything! Sing, dance, act, display artwork, recite poetry…use your imagination!
Are the acts screened?: Yes, please email icf.uiuc@gmail.com by March 2nd with a rough idea of what you will be performing. You will then be contacted to set up a time to go over your act.

Don’t be shy, this is a great opportunity to dust of old talents, uncover new ones, and conglomerate your abilities

Superbowl Sunday is just around the corner as the Patriots and Giants get ready to see who brings home this year’s win and we were thinking, what a better way to celebrate this occasion that with our ICF Family!  And, if watching the game seems like something you can do in your own home, what if it was watched through an LCD PROJECTOR PROVIDING THE BEST VIEWING ABILITY IN THE CHAMPAIGN-URBANA AREA!! And if that isn’t enough,we’ll have FOOD, fun and the NINTENDO WII to entertain us during halftime and on the side–HOW DOES A WII BOXING TOURNAMENT SOUND!!!  COME ONE, COME ALL! =)

Curtis Orchard

We’re heading out to Curtis Orchard on Saturday, October 13, for some good old fashioned apple picking! We’ll be meeting on the Green Street side of the Illini Union at 2:30pm sharp, and then heading out from there, so don’t be late (we plan to return around 5:15ish).

If you want to participate in the Corn Maze, the cost is $4, and the obstacle course is $1. Also bring additional cash if you plan on purchasing any of the goodies there. Any questions, contact Rachel @ 847.962.2506. Dress warm!
